We collect the following information directly from you when you create an account, post a listing, or submit a bid:
- Name, email address, mobile phone number
- Account password (stored hashed, never in plain text)
- For Haulers: company name, USDOT number, rig photos
- For Sellers: horse photos, descriptions, contact info you choose to display
- Listing details: pickup and dropoff locations, horse details, dates
- Bid details: quote amounts, messages between haulers and horse owners
- Payment information processed by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
- Device, browser, and usage data via standard server logs and PostHog product analytics
3. How We Use Your Information
- Operate the marketplace: display listings, route bids, calculate trip distances
- Send transactional SMS notifications (see Section 4)
- Send transactional email (account approvals, password resets, payment receipts)
- Vet hauler accounts manually before activation
- Process payments via Stripe
- Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
- Improve the Service through aggregated analytics
4. SMS Notifications
By providing your mobile phone number during registration, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Mane Miles related to your account activity, including:
- Notifying horse owners when haulers submit bids on their listings
- Notifying haulers when new horse hauling listings are posted
- Account-related alerts (approvals, password resets)
Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Standard message and data rates may apply.

We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. We do share it with our SMS provider (Twilio) solely to deliver these notifications.
5. Information Sharing
We share your information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Between users: When a vetted hauler submits a quote on your listing, that hauler's name, company, contact info, and DOT# become visible to the horse owner at no cost. Likewise, hauler names appear on bids the horse owner receives.
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), MongoDB Atlas (database hosting), PostHog (analytics).
- Legal: If required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed password storage (bcrypt), JWT-based authentication, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Access, update, or delete your account information from your Profile page
- Opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any message
- Request a complete data deletion by emailing supportmanemiles@gmail.com
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
