1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using www.manemiles.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Mane Miles is an online marketplace that connects:
- Horse Owners who need to transport horses with
- Haulers, professional horse transport providers, and
- Sellers who list horses for sale
Mane Miles is not a transportation broker, freight carrier, or party to any transaction. We provide the platform; the actual transport contract is between the Horse Owner and the Hauler. The actual sale of any horse is between the Buyer and the Seller.
3. Account Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and all activity under your account.
4. Hauler Vetting
Haulers must be approved by the Mane Miles team before they can submit bids. Vetting includes phone interview, USDOT verification (where applicable), and review of company info. Approval does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee of service, or warranty of insurance coverage. Horse owners should always verify a hauler's credentials, insurance, and references before contracting transport.
5. Fees
- Posting a horse haul listing: Free
- Viewing hauler profiles & connecting: Free — when a vetted hauler submits a quote on your listing, their full contact info is immediately visible at no cost
- Hauler subscription: $50/month, required to submit bids
- Featured listing boost: $19.99 (optional)
- Horse for Sale listing: $25 per listing
- Cancellation Protection Hold: Every booking requires a flat $300 Cancellation Protection Hold, paid by the horse owner when accepting a quote. This is a refundable safety-and-accountability hold — it is not a hauling payment, and is separate from the actual hauling fee paid to the hauler. The hold is held in escrow by Mane Miles until the haul is complete or cancelled. Outcomes: (a) On successful completion, 80% ($240) is refunded to the horse owner and 20% ($60) is retained by Mane Miles as a service fee. (b) If the horse owner cancels within 5 days of pickup, 80% ($240) is released to the hauler as compensation and 20% ($60) is retained by Mane Miles. (c) If the horse owner cancels more than 5 days before pickup, 80% ($240) is refunded to the horse owner and 20% ($60) is retained by Mane Miles. (d) If the hauler cancels, 100% ($300) is refunded to the horse owner at no charge.
All fees are processed by Stripe and are non-refundable except as required by law.
6. SMS Notifications
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Mane Miles. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or bids
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials, or DOT status
- Harass other users or send unsolicited messages
- Circumvent platform fees by negotiating off-platform after using paid features
- Scrape, automate, or copy listings or user data
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
8. Listings and Bids
Horse owners are responsible for accurate horse and trip details. Haulers are responsible for the accuracy of their quotes and ability to fulfill them. Mane Miles does not guarantee the quality, safety, or availability of any horse, hauler, or transport service.
9. Disputes Between Users
Any dispute between a Horse Owner and a Hauler, or between a Buyer and a Seller, is between those parties. Mane Miles is not a party to that contract and is not liable for non-performance. We may, at our sole discretion, mediate Escrow Deposit disputes.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Mane Miles does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mane Miles shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Mane Miles harmless from any claim, loss, or demand (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or applicable law. You may close your account at any time from your Profile page or by emailing supportmanemiles@gmail.com.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
